Are you planning to visit Mexico?

In accordance with article 52, section I of the Federal Immigration Law, foreigners may transit or remain in national territory for an uninterrupted time of no more than 180 days from the date of entry, without permission to carry out paid activities.

PAID VISIT

Have you been invited to work, to join any academic, artistic, sports or cultural authority or institution, or to do seasonal work?
Article 52 section II protects it. You can transit in the country uninterruptedly for 180 days from the date of entry.

REGIONAL AND BORDER WORKER

If you are a foreign national or resident of neighboring countries, you can enter border regions with the right to enter and leave as many times as possible without your stay in the country exceeding 7 days and without the right to remuneration.

If you are a foreigner who shares territorial limits with Mexico, you can stay for up to 1 year in the entities mentioned by the Ministry of Foreign Relations. You can have a work permit as long as the activity is related to the job offer within the country.

VISA FOR HUMANITARIAN REASON

The reason for this visa is to imminently assist the foreigner who is in any of these situations:

I. If he is offended, victim or witness of a serious crime in national territory.

II. Applicant for political asylum.

III. Applicant for refugee status.

IV. Applicant for the statelessness determination.

V. If they are girls, boys or adolescents who are subject to an international abduction and restitution procedure.

VISITOR FOR ADOPTION PURPOSES.

Do you consider adopting (obtaining full guardianship) of a Mexican minor within a period of time?

He may remain in the country as long as an enforceable resolution is issued and he may register the new birth certificate in the Civil Registry of the adopted town, as well as the issuance of the respective passport and other civil procedures to guarantee the minor's departure from the country. TEMPORARY RESIDENT

You can stay in the country for a period of no more than 4 years with the possibility of a work permit (when you have a job offer) or with the right to preserve the family unit (marriage or registration of a child born in national territory ).

They may also acquire this visa when they are a relative of the temporary resident:

I. Children of the temporary resident and the children of the spouse, common-law or common-law wife, as long as they are minors and are under their legal guardianship.

II. Spouse.

III. Concubine, concubine or equivalent figure, proving said legal situation in accordance with the assumptions indicated by Mexican law
IV. Father or mother of the temporary resident.

You may remain in the national territory for the duration of your courses, studies, research projects or creditable training until obtaining the corresponding certificate, certificate, diploma, title or academic degree, in addition to being able to obtain a paid work permit when it is of studies of superior level, postgraduate and investigation.

CITIZENSHIP BY NATURALIZATION

Would you like to have Mexican citizenship?

Article 20 of the Nationality Law makes you aware of your rights. You can acquire citizenship under the following assumptions:

I. Being a descendant of a Mexican by birth in a straight line.

II. Have a Mexican child by birth.

III. Be from a Latin American country or from the Iberian Peninsula.

IV. In the opinion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you have provided services or carried out outstanding works for the Federation or when the Head of the Executive so wants it.

Likewise, it will be possible by family union proving the marital residence for 2 years prior to the application. And only 1 year when it is adopted or subject to the parental authority of a Mexican.
